Ready to level up your study routine? StudyPod is here to help you learn smarter, simpler, and more effectively. After listening to your feedback, we’ve created two learning modes. Pick your favourite or mix them up—whatever works best for you.

Let us break it down for you

We’ve made some exciting updates to improve your learning experience — meet our two new study modes: Guided Study (Spaced Repetition) and Flexible Study.

To select the mode you'd like to try, you can access it from several different locations:

Guided Study

Want to study smarter? Guided Study, powered by a spaced repetition algorithm, helps you focus on the tricky stuff by showing challenging cards more often and easy ones less. It’s a proven way to boost memory, retain information longer, and make studying less stressful.

Flexible Study

Prefer doing things your way? Flexible Study gives you the freedom to review as many cards as you like, however you like. Focus on what matters most to you and set the pace that works best. Flexible Study follows a smart algorithm that presents unrated cards first, then moves to challenging ones, all in random order. This ensures you revisit the ones you're struggling with. The deck is marked complete once you’ve answered all cards correctly.

Key Difference

The main difference between the two modes is that Guided Study recommends a set number of cards to review each day, focusing on what’s due today. On the other hand, Flexible Study doesn't limit your review per day and always prioritises unrated cards first, making sure you go over all cards at your own pace.

Set daily session

In Guided Study, you select the number of new cards to review, and it will also include any cards that are due for review. The total number of cards will vary each day based on your choices and your learning routine.

In Flexible Study, you simply set the number of cards to review each day, and that number stays the same daily. This way, it’s less overwhelming—the default number of cards is 10, but of course, you can customise it to fit your needs.

Refined sorting options

We’ve simplified the sorting process to make it easier to navigate. Previously, there were three separate sorting screens, but now everything is centralised into one screen with options tailored to your learning mode.

Here’s the key difference: In your Cards list (we now call it Browse List), the default sorting is by newest, so your most recently created cards will appear first.

In Guided Study, the cards are sorted by a smart algorithm (spaced repetition), and by default, this order is random.

Now, you can easily see this on the screen, with two sorting options available depending on how you want to organise your cards.
